Hephaestus at the 2017 Oregon City District Qualifier
Hephaestus (also known as Ratchet) is our 2017 competition robot. It has a six-CIM west coast drive, with six wheels and a drop center. It has a floor fuel gatherer, and a passive gear manipulator on the rear of the robot. It has a climber on the front of the bot for the rope, which has the hook side of Velcro on it. This grabs the rope, and wraps it around the roller. Once the rope is attached, the robot climbs the rope in under two seconds. This year has also been significant for our team, because it’s the first year we have built a practice robot. Brontes (aka Clank) has been used for driver practice and code testing.
